The Robins were hit for two and condemned to defeat away to Bamber Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
After another competitive first half, with both sides pushing to create chances, it was Kofi Moore who scored the first early on. With seven minutes on the clock, Bamber Bridge launched a counterattack, with the ball falling to the winger down the left; Moore then cut inside and found the top right corner with a superb, curled effort from the edge of the box.
Ewan Bange had the first opportunity of the second half with a towering header from the penalty spot that turned out to be a comfortable catch for Dylan Wharton.
Late in the second half, Jamie Walker had a similar effort with a close-range header, this time saved by Aidan Dowling. But moments after this, Jack Baxter tucked away the hosts’ second with a brilliant low shot dragged across the box and into the bottom right corner.
Half-chances came for both sides in the final 15 minutes, but none materialized to any avail; thus, the Robins walked away from Irongate disappointed and without any points.
