New Ilkeston Town full-back Rashaan Frances has promised plenty of hard work as he prepares to make his Robins debut.

Frances, 21, began his career at Tamworth and was most recently with Newark FC before becoming Ilkeston’s most recent summer signing, and he can’t wait to get involved in the pre-season games which begin at Quorn on Saturday.
He said: “I spoke to the manager and he told me to come down and have a couple of training sessions and see how it went.
“The facilities at Ilkeston, for a club at this level, are very good and will help me boost my performance levels, as will having a good management team.
“The fans will see a hard-working right-back who is willing to put his body on the line to help the team.”
Frances is confident the Robins can make great strides this season, adding: “With the squad we have it’s looking very good so in my opinion, we should be looking for promotion this season.
“I can’t wait to be back on the field performing in front of the fans and putting some wins on the table.”
Robins boss Martin Carruthers was pleased to have recruited Frances. He said: “I’m delighted to get this over the line.
“I have been tracking Rashaan’s progress since he was at Tamworth and we tried to sign him last season, but he ended up at Newark.
“He’s a terrific signing for the club and a no-nonsense defender I’m sure will be a big hit with the fans.”
