Ilkeston Town eased into the first qualifying round with a comfortable win over Shepshed Dynamo on Saturday.

The Robins began well and after Zak Goodson had seen an early effort saved, they went in front when Alex Troke scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Billy Bennett on ten minutes.

Troke had a low shot gathered by keeper Matty White soon afterwards, before the lead was doubled on 27 minutes when James Reid’s fine through ball found Goodson and he ran on to finish well.

Bennett then saw an effort cleared off the line for the hosts before the break.

The second-half saw Ilkeston continue to dominate, Troke having an effort well saved by sub keeper Lewis White, before the third goal arrived on 71 minutes as good interplay between Troke and Goodson ended with the latter finishing well to secure the Robins’ passage through.
