It’s a return to Northern Premier League Premier action on Saturday for the Robins, as we make the trip up to West Cumbria to face Workington AFC at the Fibrus Community Stadium.

It is a hugely important clash for Tris Whitman’s side, after a poor run of results has seen us fall towards the bottom end of the table.

It was disappointment in the FA Cup last time out, as we fell to a 3-1 defeat away to Leamington, with Anthony Dwyer on target.

Workington AFC was founded in 1921, after the original club unfortunately folded 10 years prior.

They won promotion back to the NPL in 2022/23, beating Runcorn Linnets in the playoff final, and have been present in the league ever since.

They did however nearly face the drop last season, but they were able to stay afloat by just a point, at the expense of Prescot Cables.

The Reds will be content with their start to the 2026/27 season, as they sit in 9th position after 8 games. It was a resounding win for them last time out as they took down Lancaster City by three goals to nil.

In team news for the Robins, Sonnie Davis and Cherif Baba Yaya could be in line to make their debuts for the club after their respective arrivals from Bedford Town and Nottingham Forest on loan.

We look forward to seeing as many of you make the trip up as possible, and as always, thank you for your support.

Up the Robins!
