The Robins return to the Microlise New Manor Ground on Tuesday evening as they host local rivals Basford United in their penultimate pre-season fixture.
With the opening day of the Northern Premier League season now just around the corner, Tris Whitman’s side continue their preparations against familiar opposition in what promises to be another valuable test.
Ilkeston come into the fixture having continued to show encouraging signs throughout pre-season, with the squad continuing to develop both fitness and the playing style being implemented by the new management team.
Basford will provide another stern test for the Robins, with the two clubs sharing plenty of history both on and off the pitch. The fixture also sees several players come up against former clubs, adding an extra subplot to an already competitive pre-season encounter.
