We are delighted to confirm the signing of centre-back Pharrell Johnson from Swindon Town.

Johnson joins the Robins on a 12-month contract, becoming another exciting addition to Tris Whitman’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Standing at 6ft 4in, the commanding defender arrives at the Microlise New Manor Ground after developing through Nottingham Forest’s academy before making the move to Swindon Town.

During his time with Forest, Johnson featured in the FA Youth Cup Final at a packed Old Trafford against Manchester United, showcasing his talent on one of the biggest stages in academy football, in a game where Alejandro Garnacho netted a brace.

Manager Tris Whitman believes the defender has all the attributes to make a significant impact at Ilkeston.

“We’re really excited to bring Pharrell to the club. He’s a player with massive potential who came through the Nottingham Forest academy and played in the FA Youth Cup Final against Manchester United.

“Pharrell is a great profile both physically and technically, and we’re delighted to bring him to the club from Swindon Town.”

Speaking after signing for the Robins, Johnson said:

“I’m delighted to be here. It’s a great opportunity to come and play football for a great club.

“I’m very excited for the season ahead. Time to get to work!”

Everyone at Ilkeston Town would like to welcome Pharrell to the club and wish him every success in red and white.
