We are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Anthony Dwyer, subject to NPL and FA approval.

The experienced forward returns to the Microlise New Manor Ground ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, having previously represented the Robins during the 2016/17 season.

Dwyer arrives from Rushall Olympic and brings a wealth of experience at this level, having also featured for Alfreton Town and AFC Telford United during his career.

Manager Tris Whitman believes Dwyer’s experience and goalscoring pedigree will be a valuable addition as the Robins finalise their squad ahead of the new season.

“Anthony is a striker we enquired about early on in pre-season.

“He is someone that adds experience and goals at this level, which we feel is important as we look to finalise the squad before moving into the first game of the season.”

Speaking after completing his return to Ilkeston, Dwyer said:

“I’m really happy to get this over the line. I played here as an 18-year-old and really enjoyed my time at the club.

“As you can tell, a lot has changed and the club is moving forward in the right direction. When I spoke to the gaffers, it just felt right, and now I’m here.”

Everyone at Ilkeston Town would like to welcome Anthony back to the Microlise New Manor Ground and wish him every success in red and white.
