The club can confirm that player-manager Jamie Ward is to leave the club via mutual consent following today’s match.

Jamie took over the reigns as manager in September 2022, guiding us to a respectful 7th place finish in the Southern League Premier Central (step 3).

Jamie remains in the dug out for tonight’s game against a Derby County XI.

Owner and Chairman, Andrew Nally said: “I wish to thank Jamie for his exceptional hard work and dedication to the club. Jamie has a real footballing pedigree and his passion for the game is clear to see”.

“Jamie is a great manager and will only get better in the years to come, with many young players learning from his vast experience in the game”.

“It’s a sad day to see Jamie go, but football moves quickly and it was the right decision for all parties”.

“I have a huge amount of respect for Jamie as a person and a coach and I wish him the best of luck in his future footballing ventures”.

We now start the process of actively looking for Jamie’s replacement. Applicants can email the club at enquiries@ilkestontownfc.co.uk
