Ilkeston Town return to the Microlise New Manor Ground for a second home game in four days as we welcome early table-toppers Cleethorpes Town in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
A response is needed after two back-to-back defeats against Whitby Town and Warrington Town, and Tris Whitman’s side will need to be at their very best in order to get back to winning ways against Saturday’s visitors.
Although results have not gone the Robins’ way, there have been plenty of positive signs which they will take into the contest, as we begin to come to the tail end of an extremely hectic August schedule.
The Owls have made an unbeaten start to their league campaign, picking up three victories and a draw, the most notable of those wins being a 5-0 drubbing of Quorn, who are Ilkeston’s final test of the month.
The Robins failed to register a win against Cleethorpes last season, playing out a goalless stalemate away, and succumbing to a 3-0 loss at home.
