We are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Lewis Belgrave from Hucknall Town, subject to NPL and FA approval.
Belgrave becomes the latest addition to Tris Whitman’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 season, arriving after an exceptional year with Hucknall.
The midfielder enjoyed a standout campaign, collecting the Players’ Player of the Year, Manager’s Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer awards, underlining both his influence and consistency throughout the season.
Prior to his spell at Hucknall, Belgrave gained valuable experience higher up the non-league pyramid. During his time with Mickleover, he became the youngest player to captain the club at just 17 years old in 2016. He has also represented Long Eaton United and Gresley Rovers.
Manager Tris Whitman believes the midfielder has all the attributes needed to make a significant impact at the Microlise New Manor Ground.
“Lewis joins the club after having a highly successful season at Hucknall where he scooped all awards, including club top scorer from midfield.
“Lewis has played at a higher level previously and will be looking to re-establish himself higher up the leagues.”
Belgrave is excited to reunite with the management team and test himself once again at Step 3.
“Delighted to join this great club and continue working with such a special management team.
“Personally, I’m happy to be back at this level and excited to showcase my ability.
“Up The Robins.”
Everyone at Ilkeston Town would like to welcome Lewis to the club and wish him every success in red and white.
